Betterworldbooks.com is having a 2 day used book sale. 40% off their bargain books when you buy 5 or more. I just bought a TON of therapy related books for 2.38 each with free shipping. It was a nice chance to pick up some of the older books and some I have been considering for a while now
I was using key words therapy, therapist, shrink, couch, CSA, trauma, incst, and they really had a LOT to pick from. I even managed to leave some behind for the rest of you. Although I am now trying to decide if I want to look just ONE more time before I post this.
Thanks for this!

It depends - are you wanting to understand those therapist guys or something about yourself? I ask because my answers would be different - actually I only read to figure out what that woman is doing - not so much to understand what I am doing.

I'm gonna check it out. I'd be interested in finding something about why and/or how this process works, it is such a mystery to me the "how" of it all... as I look out at the world such a changed person from 3.5 years ago when I first started. My t was always very good at saying "trust the process" and in bits and pieces I learned to... I've had glimpses here and there of "aHA!" but for the most part... it's a mystery. I think I just had another aHa.I think maybe some t's become t's because they just want to know how this stuff WORKS???

Thanks for sharing about the sale! Only 1 of the 5 I got was a therapy book, but it was a great deal! I wasn't aware of that site before either.

Thanks very much for the tip, Pbutton, I only read the newer works that came after Freud's psychoanalysis. I read a lot about psychodynamic relationship therapy, and object relations, attachment disorders, as those therapists now are more accepting of patient dependency and are humane about Transference issues. Michael Balint, Harry Guntrip, Winnicott, and especially Richard Chessick. They directly deal with attachment, transference, and dependency problems in a positive, sensitive understanding.
I also really like Jeffrey Smith, whose articles of client/therapist relations are so good, and you can read his online. I guess I have about 50 psychotherapy textbooks in my library now. I'm going straight over to Betterworld books and see what I can dig up.
