I just received word that my appointment with T this morning is cancelled due to her being sick. She has a medical condition that is acting up. She missed a decent amount of appointments last summer due to the condition which was really hard for me. I started to have some difficulties trusting her because I never knew if she would cancel last minute. She was put on medications and hadn't missed any appointments in about a year due to illness. The medications stopped working though. They are in the process of trying something new.

Between family issues and the whole Duggar family issues in the media the last couple of weeks have been very difficult. I really needed to see her and work through some of what is going on in my head. She only sees clients 2 days a week so seeing her being next week is likely not an option. UGH...I know she feels horrible when she cancels. So talking to her about it will not change anything..even if she could.

Vent over...

I'm sorry. It can be hard to deal with a last-minute cancellation, especailly when you really needed the appointment. Hope this doesn't go like last year.

I'm sorry she had to cancel your appointment. I know it is hard when we expect something and then don't get to follow through. I hope writing here helps you some. I know sometimes just venting can really help. I hope she gets you rescheduled really soon.

I can relate. I showed up for my T appointment yesterday and she wasn't there. I texted her and about 30 minutes later she left me know she had a family emergency and would be out all week. I feel horrible for what she is going through (her dad is very sick), but it was also hard for me to prepare for session, show up, and not have it. It threw off my day. But I also feel so guilty for caring about that when her dad is sick!

T's are suppose to have back up T's for when they are on vaction or on leave. Mine always gave me a # for a therapist he uses for those reasons.

My T has a private practice and is the only person who works there. When she recently went on vacation she mentioned not having anybody however, she knew I wouldn't see anybody else anyway...she is right.

I definitely understand how hard it is. My t has had family issues going on for weeks and weeks, and in the past six weeks we have only had time to talk twice. I feel like i am about to expoode from holding so much stuff in.
