Do you ever find yourself pressured to make the most of your sessions before T goes on vacation? I have two more sessions, then will miss two sessions...and today is session #1, and I just feel so pressured that I have to make the most of these two. I hate feeling that way, but I always am before she goes away.

It's a feeling of having to get as much as you can, before its gone.
Accept we forget, it does come back so in theory exam pace ourselfs. But or unconscious remembers that sense of 'there not being enough'.

I usually just cancel. Otherwise I have to endure the woman reminding me about 12 times that she is going to be gone. I hate being treated like an idiot.

LOL Stopdog. Well I never thought of that! I have to go today...but depending on how today goes, and how I feel afterwards, perhaps I will cancel Thursday. I just hate the pressure. I put it on myself. Perhaps if I give myself the power to just cancel the appointment it'll help me feel better. Or, perhaps I'll have regret. I dunno. But I like your reply!

I do feel like I have to time what I'm going to discuss. Nothing too deep at the last session so I'm not in a bad place for too long.
Thanks for this!

I either cancel or avoid talking about anything important bc I don't see the sense in getting into something and then missing a lot of weeks.

musinglizzy, I thought of cancelling the last 3-4 sessions before T's holiday this year. I realised that that was just a self-destructive impulse, though, so I didn't... and my T is very different from stopdog's, he never brings up his upcoming absence unless I want to talk about it. (I wish he did, it would make things much easier for me, but I understand why he doesn't.)

Anyway, I do understand the feeling of wanting to make the most out of the last sessions, and feeling more pressure from myself to be effective during the session. I even forgot to say thank you to T for all his help during this past winter and spring, as I had planned to, because I had so many things to talk about. We did get through a lot in our last session, though, and that left me feeling pretty good. (And I sent him the thankyou in a txt afterwards.)

Oh yeah. I see my t very infrequently due to my work schedule etc so when I do see her I have too much to discuss so I am overwhelmed. I have a session tomorrow and I had a lot happened since last session. I would have to talk very fast lol lol
