i have read three places that you shouldn't do CBT therapy (especially for trauma) while you are tapering off benzos. Does anyone know about this? Thank you.

I'm not an expert but in my intern experience we have run into this. Are you tapering benzos because of an addiction? I think it's seen as safer to address one issue at a time, but it depends on the other factors in your situation and what kind of support you have.

Is the doctor who is tapering you aware of your plan to do trauma therapy? If so, what do they think and what would the plan for dealing with intense emotions with out the help of medication?
