I just got out of T. It was the last session before her vacation. T said she'd come back from her vacation if I were to commit suicide. I really hadn't expected that. It touched me. That she really cares, you know?

I'm guessing because it suggests she'd come back for you if you committed suicide but not if you needed her to stop you from doing that? Like, she'd come back if you had died, but not if you needed her while still alive? Does that make sense?

Out of curiosity, what led her to say that? Did you ask her?

Of course it's very nice to say it and it shows she cares but I dont like that she mentioned suicide because some clients used to harm themselves when they need T because they see it as the only way to reach him/her when s/he is away.
Thanks for this!

That's an interesting point.... one that I need to think about myself.

Hmmm. Yes, nice thought, although I don't think it's beneficial for a T to tell someone that. Especially if they are suicidal.
Thanks for this!

I said I wouldn't commit suicide now because that would mean my sister (19 years old) would discover my body and because it would interrupt a certain someone's vacation, and I could at least grant that someone that. She asked if I would mind if it interrupted her vacation, too. I was like "Why would it interrupt your vacation? You're on vacation." She said she'd come back.

We discussed who I could contact if I needed a professional etc, and she offered to have a therapist I know cover her sessions while she's away, so if I need 'her' I can call those persons. So I don't have to interrupt her vacation.

I've been suicidal for over 1,5 years now, with attempts every now and then. Now I'm immortal because I'm such a bad person that I don't deserve the relief of death. So now I try to be a better person and every once in a while I try to see if I'm mortal yet (by doing something that should kill me, but so far, hasn't). Selfharm or suicide isn't a way to reach out for me.

You hope to become a good enough person to deserve to escape life. You hope to graduate from immortality into mortality.
Thanks for this!
