I am having alot of trouble with T during session.
He stares, alot. Last session he said today (todays session) we would talk about trauma that happened. That raised my anxiety for a whole week then BAM nothing. We talked about his engagement and everytime I brought up something that was bothering me he would redirect it to his engagement or my school work which isn't what I am in therapy for. I contacted an old T that I liked (except that he won't text between sessions )) and I am waiting for his call back.
I am so sick of wasting session times expecting something he said we would work on and getting no where except talking about HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS. Whenever I bring up a problem he just says "I'm sorry". Which isn't something I really want to hear, because he has nothing to be sorry about. I called other therapists around and they couldn't see me (broke college student lol).
I want to see if my old T will call back and if not, I can try to find someone else or see someone I use to see.

It's driving me crazy. I finally want to delve into some serious issues and I can't.

For sure. He clearly doesn't 'get' what being a therapist is about. It's like he's using you as his therapist. Somebody to brag to.

Is there anyone else at the same office? Or does he have a supervisor of some type that you could discuss this with?

I think you should definitely stop seeing your current therapist. He is NOT DOING HIS JOB! I hope you will be able to find someone who is genuinely interested in helping you.

If I were in your position I would stop seeing him with or without a new T. Your sessions are essentially useless and making you frustrated on top of your existing issues. It's a complete waste of your money and time. It's not necessary for you to tell him or schedule a final session if you do decide to drop him, but if you do, I would tell him how ineffective he is. If not, then if he is part of a practice or clinic I would tell the director.
Thanks for this!

You deserve a therapist who wants to work with you on your problems. That is what therapy is for. I suggest dropping this guy and finding someone else.
