I go to a community mental health center, and they recently implemented a survey or rating scale that you're asked to do at the end of each session. I do it for my kids' home therapy, but today was the first day my T asked me to do it.
You just check on a line things like How you are doing individually How are you doing with personal relationships ie family How are you doing with work, school, etc And overall Then on the other side it's to rate your session If you feel heard, respected, etc If you talked about what you wanted to How you feel about the T's method and approach Today was a HARD session, I barely talked because I closed off so I wouldn't spend it crying. I marked lower on the heard and respected, which I totally feel like my T respects me, but I don't know if he was truly getting how I felt today. But that's my fault. He asked me to explain to him about it, and I said I couldn't talk about it today because I'm so out of it. I don't know. I really don't like it, and probably should have answered differently. Perhaps I should have marked lower on the other ones, but it's only 50 minutes. There's only so much time to talk about 2 HUGE things that I'm dealing with, and when I close off, it's my fault not his. At least he did say at the end that I should be seeing him weekly right now instead of every other week, which was good. Just had to rant. Thanks! |

i think it would be a lot of pressure to have to fill out one of those surveys. you dont want to trash your t but you want to be honest, right? i hope they are anonymous.

No, they're not anonymous. You fill them out at the end of the session, it's really fast and supposed to be used for immediate feedback. I'm honest with the in home therapist survey, but it was hard for me to provide an honest answer after my session yesterday.
