How often do you see your T and what's the longest gap you have experienced?
My ususal appoinment is fortnightly but i have had a gap of 3+months due to appointments being unavailable- its seriously killing me and I feel disconnected and like I don't matter- I'm beginning to wonder if I'm being punished for something. |

My usual appointment is fortnightly too, but I have had a gap of a month, and then a couple of 3 week gaps within the past few months. I don't really mind days and times not being consistent as I know she has others who need her more, but the varying gaps of weeks is definitely frustrating.
I sympathize with you feeling disconnected and like you do not matter - 3+ months is a long time, and it's hard to imagine that your T couldn't guarantee you a slot. It sure feels like T prioritized others over you consistently. My younger brother had an irregular slot, which often meant going a month to 6 weeks without an appointment, and that was difficult. Do you think you can bring up the gap in sessions the next time you see your T? |

each fortnight. Not enough for me. But he has limited hours. Longest I went was 2 months. I was ready to jump out a window after 3 weeks.

I see my t weekly. We don't have a set day or time - we arrange our next session at the end of our appointment. occasionally she doesn't have a time free for the following week so it's not too unusual for me to go two weeks without an appointment. The longest I've not seen t was when she took 5 weeks leave, so I didn't see her for 6 weeks.

There have been a few 10-12 week gaps. I usually find it harder to go back than to not have the appointments. Could you see another one during the gap?

I see T once a week. It has been very regular with a session on the same day each week. Longest gap was 4 weeks. That gap ended last week. She had vacation and then she didn't had an earlier appointment available for me. Now the sessions aren't so regular. I hope after next week I can have it on the same day every week again. That just works better, at least for me.

LOL...I had to look up what a "fortnight" was.... two weeks.
![]() I see my T twice a week, the longest I've gone between sessions is one three week span. It's usually two if she's on vacation.

I have been seeing my T for 45 min per week for the last 6 years. He takes 10 weeks off every summer, but this summer I left for vacation towards the end of his so it's been 12 or 13 weeks. It is definitely the longest I haven't seen him!

Once a week and my sessions are at the same time each week. I don't do well with random appointments and no specific time. I don't do well with gaps right now.

T and I live very far apart. We talk on the phone a couple nights a week, somethings three or four if we need to and have the time. Longest break was two months that i didnt hear from her because of a family emergency she had, and it was very very hard.

Wow! Once every three weeks?? It intrigues me that you are able to have such a strong connection with your T seeing her every three weeks. I struggle, and see mine twice per week!

It's hard having that much time between sessions. She has made me a recording and a video to help with our connection between sessions. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I usually see my therapist every week, but there have been a couple of 2 month gaps, and one for a month. They were difficult for me but she has her own life full of her own problems and like me sometimes needs to take care of those first.
