My T I have been seeing for over a year just recently lost a family member. I want to give her a condolence gift or card. Is that ok to do? Or is that crossing the line?

i would think a card would be more than ok, although not required. Even just a simple 'sorry for your loss' would be fine.

I think gifts (unless made by you) is crossing the line. A card is a nice gesture.

Often the family asks for donation to charity instead of flowers - I think a donation like that would be fine but not really a gift card.

I gave a card to my pdoc when her mother died. She thanked me. I don't think a gift would be appropriate in this situation however.

I have given small gifts, sometimes homemade, to my pdocs/T.
