I finally got the courage up to make an appointment. I have been reading about EMDR but there are only two therapists here in the area that do it and neither are in network for my insurance.
Then I called the one therapist with an address near my office so that it wont take so much time out of my day, and that number is no longer active. Its on his website and all the other listings for him and that totally pisses me off and makes me not want to call anyone else. |

Was the phone number listed on this therapists actual website, or, through the Psychology Today website (or similar)? A while back when I was looking for a therapist for my daughter through the PT website, I tried a few phone numbers for T's that wound up being inactive. I thought it odd that 3 numbers called in a row were no good and so I googled one of the T's and found a different, working phone number. The one T I found mentioned that she had had a lot of issues with the PT phone number. So, hopefully, the T you want to see maybe has another working number???

Yes, the number on his personal website didn't work, I finally found one through the insurance website that actually worked for him and have the appointment set up for next week. I think its going to work out really well.
I was really stressed about having to take time away from work, since my migraines and some major dental work has been such and issue, but it turns out he only does evenings and his office is just down the street from my work, so I can go right after work! |
