So far, no one feels comfortable enough about attachment issues/theory to PM me so that I can clarify a few questions, or everyone thought I might be a weird psycho. It was a bit of an odd request. At any rate, as I was journaling about my last appt. tonight, I stumbled onto the answer to my own questions. Without an explanation, which is cumbersome, let me just say that if I would get out of my own way, therapy might not be such a painful struggle.

I don't know anything other than what I have read. Wallin's book Attachment and Psychotherapy and
Trauma and the Avoidant Client by Muller
here is a part:

Ducky, I missed your thread, sorry! Where is it? What is the attachment question? Agree with Stopdog that Wallin is useful. Pm me if I can help (probably not) or you'd like a hug
Thanks for this!

You can PM me too. I'm reading Wallin's book right now. You said your questions got answered? Can you share what you figured out about transference, attachment styles, etc? I don't think it's so clear-cut. You can have the dismissive style but still want to attach to your T.

Also, although I did read both books - I found both authors to be obnoxious people that I would never want to engage with on any level.
