Do you ever see yourself and the therapist like a scene or characters in a movie or play?
The first one for me shifts between The Importance of Being Ernest and Cato versus Clouseau in the Pink Panther films.
The second one is much more like My Dinner with Andre.

Sadly I want to see her as Lowenstein and myself as Tom Wingo in The Prince of Tides. It's not really that I want for us to fall in love...it's just that I want her to save me. How's that for guaranteed disappointment?

Who is she in The Importance of Being Ernest? My money's on Lady Bracknell.
In all honesty my T is kinda unremarkable.

At our (infrequent) best, No. 1 and I were like William Powell and Myrna Loy in "The Thin Man" series.

I, of course, was William Powell. (Suave, smug, superior, and always right.)

Sometimes our exchanges are quite Lion in Winter-ish.

Good one.

Are you Peter O'Toole or Katharine Hepburn?

Or Rosalind Russell and Cary Grant (His Girl Friday).

Or Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck (Ball of Fire). Except I'd have to be Cooper there, and he's kind of a wuss.

Or maybe I just like screwball comedies.

This is a really interesting thread for me because my interactions with him are so strange and new to me that I never had anything to compare them to. If anything, something like the movie Stand By Me comes to mind now that I think about it -- where you end up discussing things you never thought you would, crying unexpectedly, facing fears and things that horrify you, and somehow feeling better. I think T would be the tougher kid, what's his name? The one who wasn't quite as bright and thought he would end up in wood shop, but was emotionally astute and loyal. You know the one I mean?
Thanks for this!
