Here is one of my favorite poems... I'm not generally a big poetry fan, but I love Mary Oliver.

This one is "The Journey"


One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice,
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
‘Mend my life!’
each voice cried.
But you didn’t stop.

You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations
though their melancholy
was terrible. It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.

But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice,
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do,
determined to save
the only life you could save.

My T's love and hugs have been one of my most healing parts of my therapy. Its one of the best feelings in the world.

Since currently we are working on learning strategies for fighting off my inner destructive voice and I actually bested the dark voice by pulling out that my T said my ribs were irresistibly ticklish and my laugh utterly adorable. I told the dark voice it was jealous and should shut the heck up. I shared that today. My t was so excited she laughed out loud and clapped her hands. And then I got double extra tickles while being told how loved and adorable I am and then a big snuggly hug. She says if I am beating the dark voice sometimes we are doing stuff right so more tickles and super affectionate words are all mine. Its fun because she used to be tentative about tickling me but now she says my giggles are addictive and I rarely even have to ask.....it was a big happy session

That photo is just stunning and kind of magical

"I step out, and let my light shine in the world"

a mantra t gave me along with a candle, i lit the candle and repeated the mantra every night for a month. I still do it from time to time.
