I wanted to share this dream I had because I thought it was pretty funny but first I need to give a little background:

I was having dinner with some friends last night and we got talking about dreams and some common themes that we tend have. One of which was the classic "teeth falling out" dream. One of my friends said it would be interesting to discuss the meaning of their dreams with a psychodynamic orientated therapist and I said how my current specialises in that area. I was drinking red wine during this conversation.

So the dream. I went to go see my dentist for a check up and instead of it being my actual dentist that I see in real life it was my T haha. For some reason I brought a glass of red wine with me to the check up and was casually sipping on it while my T/dentist told me I shouldn't drink red wine because it will stain my teeth. She then went on to chat about how she is not good at things that involve using her hands so she doesn't know why she went into dentistry lol.
Thanks for this!

If any of you have had some funny/weird dreams about your T I'd love to hear them!

I had a dream early on (after second or third session) that had an element I associated with a particular advocacy organization. I told my therapist about it and she disclosed that she's a member of that organization. She shared it with me because a client had noticed a picture of her in the newspaper as part of that group, so it wasn't a secret (although it was unknown to me because I live in a different city). Then we argued about the role of this group in my dream, and I thought it was funny that she was arguing with me about something in my dream life. There was another element to it that proved to be true in the way that it demonstrated our relationship--she was wobbly and I steadied her--she said she liked that part best. I later found out why she was wobbly. I still think about that dream sometimes. It's good to share those things in therapy, I think.

I actually don't mind the dentist too much but there was no dentist type stuff going on in the dream. It was just me sitting and the dentist chair and my T/dentist chatting away haha. I don't remember what she said other than the things I mentioned earlier.

That's such a strange coincidence!
I'm not sure if I'll tell T about my dream just because I have some more "pressing" issues that I need to discuss and I keep avoiding them! If I get the time I may bring it up

I dreamt that my ex t came into my workplace, and needed help getting something installed. I fumbled over getting it put together and she kept glancing curiously at me and I really wanted to go into the backroom when I saw her walk but we were busy and then she came to my register. Even in my dream, it was really awkward doing the 'hello did you find everything alright debit or credit' spiel.
