I am currently going through a breakup of a 3.5 year relationship. He was the man I thought I was going to marry, who would be the father of my children, who I would grow old with. I guess we don't always get the happy ending.

Anyway, I spent an hour talking with him today in an effort to try and work things out but he did not change his mind. My therapist has been with me every step of this breakup and knows how much I'm struggling. She allows contact between sessions and after this conversation today I would really like her support. Also, I won't see her for another 6 days and I'm afraid I'll forget everything I want to talk about. I just feel like I'm always bothering her and I hate contacting her on the weekends when she's with her family.

Any suggestions for how to get by before a next session? The thoughts in my head are driving me crazy and I'm afraid I'm going to unravel.

You might try a journal. I am not big into journaling but I have at times found it necessary. That way you can write down what you want to talk about in case you forget it.

Also, I would see if my T could get me in early. My T has a cancellation list. If that is the way your T works I would go that route.

Contact her if you need too. She will answer if she can. Don't feel guilty!

100% contact her. If she even said you could then do it. My therapist encourages me to contact her between sessions since I'm having a hard time opening up and thats the only way were actually getting somewhere. It helps her know whats going on in your mind and then during session youll both be on the same page. Plus the reply she give may give you some guidance and help you until the next session.

I'm sorry about what youre going through Stay strong.!
Thanks for this!
