Many! Music seems to help when nothing else can.

Edited to include some songs that move me: "In Snow" by David Broza, "Mad Mad Me" by Tuck and Patti, "The Last Time I Saw Richard" by Joni Mitchell, and "Diamonds and Rust" by Joan Baez...those are just off the top of my head.

Not sure if it means the world to me, but, Stairway to Heaven performed live by Ann & Nancy Wilson at the Kennedy Center a couple of years ago reaches deep into my soul and stirs me up every single time I hear it. I have listened to that song a million times and every time it produces an ineffable feeling within.

Many for me, too. A recent one that connects to therapy is "Eyes to the Wind" by the War on Drugs. It has the line "There's just a stranger living in me," which I think is a great description of depression (or other mental illness). The singer has said in interviews that he wrote the album while in the throes of depression and anxiety, so it fits.

Yes, very much! Though most of my music is driven by moss, there are still times I really need to hear certain lyrics. Often times its just one bit of each song, but it soaks to something inside.
You?

This Way by an indie canadian band called Jets Overhead. The lyrics are so fun to sing, especially the outro and I love the keyboards. I listen to it as I take walks in the woods and I truly feel free. I feel like a kid all over again, without a care in the world. I think it's important to have fun in nature from time to time, it can't always be work/eating/sleeping. lol

Good tunes coming up. For the last few years "hello world" by lady antebellum has been my anthem for some calm and focus. Especially this particular live version:

I'm not even remotely religious one jot, and yet this song makes me feel like I'm connecting to not just the physical birds, trees, people, air around me, but also to something bigger than that..... Every time I listen to it. When this song comes out to be played, it's played over....and over..... and over.
Thanks for this!

What is the song that means the world to you, itjustis? As for me, too many to mention, and many old songs from the 60s and from movies and plays. Venus, I think it's Frankie Avalon who sang it, is a 45 rpm I own from my past. I have many others too. A Whiter Shade of Pale but I forgot who sang that. And Mandy, a Barry Manilow song. Current songs: You Raise Me Up. I can't stand most popular songs of today.

The song that probably moves me the most is Over the Rainbow, the Judy Garland original version. Coming in second is Where is Love from Oliver!

Does this thread have to do with therapy? Are you thinking of sharing music with your T? Many people have done that, including myself.
