My T always amuses me. I happened to run into him a few minutes ago while I was grocery shopping, so we chatting for a minute. He's a man of many hobbies. He like to bicycle long distances, does yoga, is a blackbelt in some martial art (I never remember which one), hunts, fishes, trains his dog, is a pretty good cook, plays with his grandchildren, etc. He was telling me his latest venture is that he has taken up dancing. I asked him if he had a dance partner; he said on and off again. LOL! It was nice to run into him again; that's twice in about three months. (I haven't seen him for therapy in over two years

Do you know your T's hobbies?

My last T was into jogging, yoga, and reading. She has run 26 mile marathons. She also likes, hiking, cooking, and traveling.

Yes, he is a musician, he does research, and he enjoys reading. Those are things that are relevant for my therapy, for instance we often use imagery from music we both appreciate to illustrate a point. Other than that I don't know. For me it would not be helpful to know things about T's real life - I know that for other people it can be very helpful.

He never discusses them but I know from his Amazon author profile and from an online interview he did that he enjoys woodwork and has a workshop.
I also found out by googling him that he does something for a hobby that is my H's profession. It was a weird reminder of the unnatural nature of the T relationship that he never mentioned that in all the times I've talked about H's work.

My T does yoga and teaches yoga. That seems to take a lot of her free time. She also watches reality shows like "Deadliest Catch" which she swears is just because her husband likes them. Mostly she says " I have 5 kids. I don't have time for hobbies". Although as of this fall three of them will be in college so maybe I'll get to find out what her other hobbies are. I know she REALLY likes shopping especially for boots and purses....

My t's hobbies include writing, reading, painting, napping, yoga, Native American drumming and flute-playing. Not sure I'd classify this as a hobby but my t is in her late 60's and is finishing up her PhD in psychology.

I know my T likes playing tennis, shopping (particularly at Nordstrom), watching football, eating out, and playing with her grandkids. I'm sure there's something in there I'm forgetting. Those are things that have come up in conversation.

MC likes playing basketball (despite being quite short for a guy! he's shared multiple anecdotes about that), soccer, and golf; watching college basketball, pro baseball, football, and hockey; doing outdoorsy stuff; doing stuff with his kids; watching comedies; listening to music (he mentioned Dylan as his favorite); eating chocolate...I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff here (can you tell he's the main personal discloser among the two?)

I don't know about the first one. She said something one time about baking and her extra equipment to assist with that.

The second one has a whole separate career and also gardens.

My T likes to run and has a dog and two kids so I assume she enjoys spending time with them. But that's really all I know. I think she did gymnastics when she was younger, but I could be making that up...

T1 has like 800 kids and a small farm, so I'm sure he's pretty busy with all that. He also plays guitar and takes his kids who play instruments to entertain at nursing homes.

I don't know much about T2 yet, but from his office I think he's into photography and nature.

I don't really know her hobbies, aside from reading a certain genre of book. I'm okay with that.

Gardening. She had amazing flower gardens. She finds it very relaxing, and had taught me a lot about it.

Collecting antiques, polishing silver, yoga.

well I know that my primary psychiatrist is an avid cyclist but only because I have seen him come in his cycling attire before our sessions. The screensaver on his computer is always a comic book character. As for my therapist she must be really into New Age spirituality as her office is full of the indicators.
