Hey all. I am looking to find a new psych dr hopefully asap style, as things are not going well with my current dr. Current dr only wants to hear about my plans for the weekend, not my problems. I live in the south Chicago suburbs, if anyone can recommend a good psych dr please let me know!

Hello justkeepswimmin': I see this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! I hope you find whatever amount of time you spend here to be of benefit. The Skeezyks is not in the Chicago area. So I can't answer your question. Perhaps other members, here on PC, who are in the Chicago area will yet reply with some suggestions. Or perhaps you've already heard from someone by Personal Message? I hope so...

PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. There are many knowledgeable & caring members here. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

Welcome! I am not in Chicago but I'm moving out of CA and trying to find a new T can be hard. Try psych central or psychology today's therapist listings. I've had more success with that than referrals from my doctors.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
