I think I have decided to give this new therapist a try. My search has been pretty poor as many t's in my area are either religious counsellors or they don't offer after work hours etc. Or they don't take my insurance. Oh yeah for those who do not know I moved from the west coast to another state for a new job. I had to give up a great t who I affectionately called Sparky here on Pc. We are still winding down sessions by phone.

This new t does a bit of eclectic therapy combining the rogerian style with Cbt and dbt skills. He comes off slightly new-agey which I was not crazy about but his working style is solid no woo in his practice just his persona. Stopdog had the hilarious idea that I should nickname him grape nuts but it seems a little emasculating. Can't explain had the idea to call him Rocky for the worry stone t let me use. But Kashi seems a happy medium.

Remember Fraggle Rock and the character Mokey? Potential new T - meet "Kashi" kind of like that only a guy.
He is a kind person but he does wear his own issues on his sleeve. At least he is in his own therapy. We will see how it goes! My insurance kicks in in October.
