Hi all,
Not sure how specific to be but I need advice. I got a friend request from someone who is friends with T in really life and on social media. I didn't know this til I looked at her profile and saw pics. I am afraid of several things: (1) my t will think I requested this person and am acting on attachment impulses because I somehow knew they were friends beforehand (which I did NOT know). Or (2) I will see pictures of them (like I already have) and it will continue to be super upsetting. What do ya'll think? Should I tell T? Should I not tell her so she doesn't think I'm trying to dig into her personal life? (Btw I have intense attachment issues so that's why I'm so afraid she'll assume that). Or do I just delete the friend even though she requested me? |

Is this "friend" really a friend. Or did you just accept because...? FB tends to be used to "collect" as many people as possible. If this "friend" isn't that important, remove the person. Problem solved. If this "friend" is an actual friend who you want to see updates from, then if it were me, I'd tell my T.

As scarlet said, if this is a friend who you socialise with, communicate with regularly and outside of social media, then sure add them but tell your T.
However if it's a "Facebook friend" as in someone, who knows someone, or you were in class with at school but have never spoke to since I would probably give it a miss.
