Disappointed. I really need to see my T and my pdoc (like really REALLY badly) and I have appointments to see both of them on Wednesday, but between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, we're supposed to get 9-15 inches of snow. f#ck.
This really f#cking sucks. I'm going to have to cancel both due to the weather, and the sh#ttiest part of it all is that both my pdoc and T are booked for eternity. Well, my pdoc is DEFINITELY booked for this coming week (I tried to change the appt last week, but I said, "that's okay. I'll stick with wednesday"... and this was before I found out about snowpocalypse). My T is fully booked for the next two weeks. I would totally go if their appointments weren't in the morning, but I just know my driveway will have waaay too much snow and my dad usually clears snow around 6am. Definitely not going to make it to my 7am appt for my therapist, and IDK if it's even safe to go to my pdoc's appt at 8. I mean, sure... I can TRY to clear our driveway, but the driveway is too long and my dad has to use a snowthrower. Has anyone else been in this sort of predicament? I'm really sad. Just looking for support. |

Could you talk to them via phone or online video chat? I had phone sessions with my T quite a few times when I could not go in person and they were quite good.

Thanks, but I tried asking my therapist before about the skype and phone options. She doesn't do either of them.
The best I can do is talk to my pdoc on the phone (he doesn't do skype), but i don't really like that option. He doesn't like to do med changes over the phone, and i REALLY need a med change. |

I am in the same boat and missed last week due to T's illness. It's frustrating because I am having a hard time and was getting through by telling myself I just had to make it to next week.
I am trying to see this as an opportunity to practice some skills we've been working on, and I am making a list of what I want to make sure we connect on when we finally have a session. It's disappointing! |

Can you call Monday and see if pdoc can make changes over the phone?

Why do you have to cancel this early? I mean what if the snow storm is delayed or not as bad as they predict it to be? Are there no exceptions for last minute cancellations due to inclement weather?

Could you ask to get on a cancellation list? If there's that much snow, it could be that some clients might have to cancel on Thursday, too, but you might be able to get to the office.

Also a good point--when it's more than 48 hours away, it can be hard to predict exactly how a storm will hit. It might end up not snowing until, say, later Wed. morning or it might be much less than they were expecting.
