So I've been in therapy for about 2.5 years now, originally for depression/anxiety stuff but now that it has faded, the focus has turned to my attachment struggles and family issues.

I'm considering going to a support group because I don't feel like my friends are able to understand some of the things that I struggle with.

The problem is finding one that I feel fits for me...

I'm 25 so I would like to find one for younger adults but the one NAMI group in my city for people my age is 2 blocks away from the large university that I went to a few years ago and now work at. I know the chances are slim but I am afraid I would walk in and see one of the students that I supervise at work...

The other part is that I don't know what type of group would be right for me. A general depression one seems like it would be the best but even then, I'm not depressed right now so I don't know what that would be like. My anxiety is really low right now so I don't feel like I would fit in there. My dad has attempted suicide twice but hasn't been successful so even suicide loss support groups don't feel right.

I don't know...it's something I want to do but I can't find anything where I feel I fit. The perfect group would be a young adult group for people who have attachment issues but I don't think those groups exist.

Any advice/opinions??

Maybe a Codependent Anonymous group? Because i think they're more likely to be dealing with family issues.
