Hi there,

What I realized with my T and with my GP is that when I agree with their advice, my first impulse is screening all the obstacles to implement their advice.

The issue here is that the more I agree with advice given, the more I find faults.
They think that I disagree or I feel anger, or contempt, or whatever negative feeling about them.

It needed the heated session I talked in the feelings in contest for realising that I approach the issue in a get it done right for implementing their advice.
As such, I scan every possible obstacle to make their advice work.

On the other hand, the physician perceives my finding faults as meaning that I don't appreciate the advice given in his professional capacity.

Physician is putting emphasis on intent, sometimes overshadowing the issue ; while I emphasize the method to get the aim born from the best intention. Goodwill and pure intentions are necessary, but they are not enough to get the expected outcome.
Thinking that "the person didn't do anything dangerous because she has done it with the best intention" is actually based on wishful thinking. Of course, an action can be dangerous even when done in good faith. It doesn't mean "the person is a criminal psychopath".
I understood such with my legal studies and because my mom's thinking pattern is identical. So, she wants to help out of good heart, but the final outcome is disastrous. Then, she tries to convince me over and over that she meant well when she has done it. Ok, I agree that she meant well when she has done it. However, agreeing with her good intentions doesn't change the disastrous end result. So, the issue is not the goodwill, the method is.

If physician's perception is "I disagree with advice and I have something against his person", it is not .

What taught me T and, in a lesser measure, my GP, is slowing down on purpose to acknowledge the good intent.
After the physician registers the appreciation, then, I jump on raising all the obstacles to make advice work.
Lo and behold, when it works, it works

Any course if action will present obstacles. And you are entitled to ask for advice.
