I was just complaining about how hot it is and the sneaker/sweat sock thing is just not working for me. I need to a. buy some sandals that are work appropriate and b. do something about my toes. I have a huge polish collection but an inability to actually reach my feet! Can't get a real pedicure until next payday, because I have to get my hair trimmed this weekend, and DD2's birthday was this payday as well. Oh, well. It will wait!

Since I started this whole toenail thing, I have an update: he was wearing socks and now we'll never know

Me, I am content to go around besandaled with bare toenails. But at least I keep them at a hygienic length (I think)

JDNA...great job! You must be relieved to have gotten that out of the way. My best friend is a medical billing coder too and over the years whenever I complain of an illness etc...she says, "you have 422.9 or 227.3" I'm just making those numbers up but she knows them ALL! She's been doing it for 25 years or so.

Good luck!

During a recent "dark night of the soul", I texted her a ton of stuff. Told her I'm too attached, told her I'm frustrated I struggle to bring up difficult subjects I want to work on in sessions but keep writing LONG letters to her. In a fit of shoving her away, I confessed I audio record our sessions secretly. Please judge me negatively if you want but please know I already hate myself... I know what I'm doing isn't ethical, despite being legally OK in my country. I could go into the reasons why I did it but it's all been said before if one searches PC about threads on the same topic.

In a continuation of my lousy week, I also said she's the enemy because she's Christian. Yeah I got triggered over Good Friday and Easter Sunday. I know it's really unfair that I said that to her, and genuinely I know there's many good Christians. I'm just...upset because of my fundamentalist Christian upbringing and happened to read something GRAPHIC about parents physically abusing their children due to these teachings which triggered me. Because i experienced similar and to be honest, I never felt T acknowledged the religious element.

I also told her stuff about my long term LDR relationship which isn't very healthy...as in I believe I'm abusive to my SO. And finally I told her I bought blades specifically to SH for the first time, and that I've been cutting A LOT more than usual for me...

I've told her several times that she terminating me would be a fair and valid consequence. Yeah.

I think if she does terminate me, I'll take a long break from therapy. I function, who cares if I'm miserable in life anyway? I'm just someone working a job I hate, treating the few people closest to me like crud.
QM, I don't usually respond or post much on the couch so I hope it's ok. I just wanted to say that I really really think it's fine for you to record your sessions. I don't think your T should be angry at all. In my opinion it's great that you have told her, because now she can give you permission/let you know that she doesn't mind, and you won't need to feel bad about it.
And as for getting upset over Easter. I'm sure that when you tell T that you didn't mean to be angry with her personally, she will understand. After all, she's a T. I'm sure she can feel upset, but this is the kind of stuff they are trained to deal with.
I hope you get to see your T soon and feel better soon

Standing in line at the post office to get No. 2's presumed termination letter. Considering leaving and letting it be returned to her or writing REFUSED on it.

Thank youuuuu Art! 1197 words done now, only 553 to go!

ETA: in case anyone is wondering how my progress is so amazingly slow, it's 'cos this is a research essay and most of it is finding studies on stuff and citing them which takes ages and is very tedious and adds nothing to my word count

I need to take a moment to say a heart felt thank you to everyone here for being so accepting of my spirituality stuff, even if it's not someone's cuppa tea, no one has ever judged me for it or made me feel bad here. I ran into some of that today at work - I started to share a little bit with one of my friends and she shut me right down with a "My faith is AGAINST shamanic practice." Oh. Ok. I'm sorry? But thing is, I'm not sorry for who I am. But I couldn't say that to her. I'm partway there, but not all the way. What I wanted to say but didn't, was that my experience of God/Spirit has actually broadened since I began down this path... like, finding Spirit everywhere instead of 'just' in church. I'll stop here because going any further would belong in a different forum and my intent was really just to thank you all for accepting me w/out judgement. Because it kinda hurt today to be shut down like that by someone who I thought was my friend.

Another evening hike - we meet at 5:30pm and then hike into the canyon among the trees and cacti and then gather in a circle, talking and sharing and then drumming together as it gets dark, and then hike out at 8:30 or so. I am so very blessed to have found these folks, who have become my soul family.
I just read something on forest bathing. I hope you let us know how it goes.
