Has anyone else felt like they don't want to discuss or share something they wrote with their T but feel they need to? If so how did you go about explaining it to T?
In my head I know why I don't want to share but feel like I need to (for myself) but I don't not know how to verbalise or explain to her why I don't want to but need to. Hope that makes sense. |

Yes! I told my T that I didn't want to share it with her but I need to share it with her. She was able to ask questions that helped expand on the statement.
The last similar situation was me not wanting to come to session but that I went to session because I needed to go, I needed to be there and not just because it was a scheduled thing but that I needed to talk about what was talked about. She accepted the statements just as spoken, I didn't have to explain any further. Is there a reason you think you'll have to "justify" your need to share this item with her? |

Would it help to write it out? I have serious trouble sharing things with my T and, even when I do, it usually comes out all wrong. Writing it out has helped a lot and for me it is a lot easier to find that little bit of courage to hand him a note than it is to actually use my voice.

If it is particularly long, I might suggest marking particular parts you want her to read.

I didn't write in it every day but will probably have to be worked through over several sessions. All parts are kind of relevant really.

![]() I share my journal with my T and it is on the mark of 15 pages single sided a week when I include the session summaries. I think they are most helpful in showing my T how things change and shift over time for me. |

I've felt that before, but never brought up that it was something I needed to talk about and never had to justify it. If you think it's relevant, then your T shouldn't question it.
I like Elio's recommendation above on how to bring it up. |
