My exT turned teacher is leaving teaching in June. She's been teaching for 5 months and feels it's too much with having clients all week too.

I'm so devastated...my heart is physically hurting that she won't be in my life for as long as I thought.
I can literally feel my heart breaking.

The thought also crossed my mind that she only took the job to get rid of me as a client. If she didn't take the job I would've been able to see her as a client until June.

I really want a session with her before we both part ways for good but I'm not sure that is allowed?

Gutted. I'm really gutted. Devastated [emoji17]

I'm sorry...I assume it's not possible to resume therapy with her now that she'll no longer be a tutor?

That's the thing, I don't want to continue therapy with her, I just want one last 'session' before she leaves teaching me.
She knew how awful my attachment was (to the point I had a break down) and she should know how badly this sudden exit is going to affect me.

Is there any harm in asking?
Do you think she would expect me to ask her?

Maybe I need a few days for it to sink in. Devastated [emoji17]

Waiting a few days to make a decision has rarely been a poor choice for me. But I don't see any harm in asking for a session. I would hope she would agree.

That stinks.
Thanks for this!

I don't know where you live itjustis but here we can't resume therapy with a tutor or anyone who is anything to do with our studies because our personal therapy hours won't count and it would be unethical and a dual relationship, etc....
I don't think your t started teaching to get away from you as a client, perhaps it was too much and she feels burnt out. Do you have a t currently could you talk to them about your attachment to your ex t? I am wondering if your t/ tutor would meet with you for a coffee or lunch to try and process this, or even after or before class. Seems like there is a lot left over from your relationship with her.
Thanks for this!

Hi Mona, it's nice to hear from you
I don't wish to continue therapy with exT. I'd just like to see her on our own one last time to close everything off.

Im pretty sure she'd bring up ethics if I asked to meet for a coffee too! I think that would be a bit weird for me yet anyway.
I'm going to email her this morning and see what she says about seeing me - not like a client - just before she leaves.
Thanks for this!

Does she have office hours? Maybe you could ask for a conference (or whatever you call it there) and just meet with her as a student?

Yes she does. She replied to my email and is going to try and fit me in some time towards the end of June. Her email was lovely so I'm happy with the outcome Devastated [emoji17]
