Ignore the following thread until I get a new one up... Here is what happened, but some people have already replied here so I don't want to erase it on them.......WEEEEEEELLL... LOL... I was making a beautiful poll for this thread and really got into in and made categories and everything.... LOL.. then when I went to add it, it said that it had to be added within 45 minutes, so I lost it all... (at least I was preoccupied this last hour I guess) I am going to rewrite and this thread and try posting again faster, so hang in there for me ;(
Hold on, I am making it again and excited to see the response (if I can be fast enough this time.... LOL) ![]() There seems to be a lot of the contact for scheduling reasons, changes, being late etc... and not for support. If you will indulge me one more time, I would love to see how often you contact for support and NOT scheduling related. Also how often you have sessions. I realized the out of session contact is greatly situational to how often you actually have sessions. If you meet once a week and contact never, you had once a week contact which would also be for the person that meets once a month and then contacts out of session weekly. I would also be curious on the typical response rate of your therapist. SOOO, this poll will have: ![]() how often you see therapist for in person sessions how often you contact outside of sessions how quickly your therapist contacts you back ![]() I do want to add, because as writing this, it seems it might appear I am looking for complaints on my therapist contact policy and it is quite the opposite. For the record, I have a wonderful therapist and I do contact whenever necessary which averages about once a week, with sometimes more and sometimes less ![]() Last edited by confusedondid; Jul 06, 2017 at 01:08 PM. |

1. how often you see therapist for in person sessions
Once per week except in times of crisis, then I have seen him 2x per week temporarily. 2. how often you contact outside of sessions Never. Not allowed. 3. how quickly your therapist contacts you back N/A Edit to Add: With Ex-T, I saw him twice per week for 90-minute sessions each time. I emailed and texted him multiple times a day. It took him anywhere from minutes, hours, and, rarely, a day to respond (to email). I regret it immensely. It led to only damage and pain in the end. |

I meet with my therapist once a week. I email her for nonscheduling reasons (like because something happened or I want to share something personal) about once a month. During office hours she replies within a couple of hours but out of office hours she may or may not reply until the next day. depending on he subject we may have a short back and forth email exchange or it be a one reply and done kind of thing. We've never talked about the boundaries of it though.
