So today I had a session with wild haired t. I told her about the visit to ex t and she really helped me to process it. She asked us to swap chairs and for me to be ex t and to show her how angry she gets. Wild haired t was me sitting in the chair, she looked scared as I began to act like ex t. Then wild haired t asked me to be my mother and we walked around the room together me as my mother and her as me, we acted out a thing that happened between me and my mother recently and again I got really angry as my mum. We both noticed a pattern between my ex ts anger and my mothers anger and how I react to both of the by withdrawing and becoming very scared as I watched wild haired t be me I became very sad because I realised how upsetting it is to have someone shout angrily at you.
Wild haired t asked why I felt that it was my responsibility to fix this and was I getting my needs met with her. I said no and she then asked if I was getting my needs met with her. I said yes, so far anyway. I noticed with wild haired t for my last few sessions she has asked me to stand up and we have done a lot of experiential exercises. I am wondering if she is testing my boundaries, she asked me to stop her when she was getting too close. It's kinda strange

It sounds like you could do some great work with wild haired T. I understand that it must be very difficult though... She actually respcts you and your boundaries. That's new and new things are scary...

I actually was helping my t one time not really intentionally but it really helped my feeling of self worth and value. Hang in there and keep smiling, it keeps people guessing what you are up to. 😁

Is sounds like wild haired T is helping you to see things from a new perspective without shaming or scaring or being confrontational. She sounds like a good one!

Are you going to keep seeing both for a while? I think if so, having them back to back like this might be a good way to go. I can see some benefit here in doing a period of time like this. I don't think xT is healthy for you in the long run; however, the interaction then processing with whT (wild hair t) might allow you to see the patterns involved with xT and your mother. I think whT method today was really good/useful. I'd say (ADVICE WARNING), just don't cancel on whT because of either a terrible session with xT or an extremely good session with xT. xT and you have a history that seems very much like an abuse cycle. Let whT help pick it apart and show you the patterns and links through both the good and the bad.

I know you have your struggles with whT. Overall it seems her pluses out weigh her negatives.

Best to you Mona.

I like the way wild hair T does therapy! She has her quirks but she seems like she knows what she's doing with you.
Thanks for this!

She is really good because she didn't give an opinion because if she had of said ex t was abusive I would have been out of there. Instead, she used techniques and exercises to help me see what was happening. I really think she is some kind of white witch. I didn't feel ashamed at all. She used sentences like, "help me to understand what's happening in your words" and "without judging or shaming yourself, tell me about those angry texts you sent to your ex t". She didn't judge me or ex t.

Thank you Elio WHt, is definitely a keeper. I have never been to a t like her or met another t like her. She really trusts her intuition and goes with it. I like the idea of seeing both for a while, I know ex t is no good but seeing what happens between us today was an eye opener. When I seen WHT be me in the chair it was heartbreaking because I didn't want to shout at her, she really looked scared. There is something very good about WHT, she really listens and explores all options before coming to any conclusions, she collaborates with me to see what fits. Ex t never did this.

She does, I don't know what she is doing or how she is doing it but I am really learning and embodying our sessions. She is pretty cool. I look forward to our sessions and usually I am too self conscious to stand up or act in therapy but with her it seems so natural.

It is scary but it feels nice to work with someone who respects you. She is taking her time to get to know me even though I know she already knows me in ways I don't know myself. I think she can see into my soul.

Ooh... Wild Haired T (what a great name!) sounds kinda awesome. My last T advertised himself (on his webpage) as being "experiential" - but we never really did anything that seemed experiential at all. I can see how all the changing chairs and acting things out could be a little scary at at first, but it sounds like it's really helpful in getting your head around what's going on and seeing things differently. So very cool!
Thanks for this!
