LT-
I had a Yorkshire who was good with children, but she grew up with them. The following are dogs that I've heard are good: Maltese, Boston Terrier, Shih tzu, Boston Terriers, and probably more. |

Thanks! Boston Terrier kept coming up on this online "what dog breed is right for you?" quiz

We would just want to know its history if we adopted one. Like one from a rescue where it had been fostered for a bit, not pulled from an abusive home then put in cages. It would be different if it was just me and H, but I don't want to take chances around our daughter. Since she's pretty rambunctious! If we went breeder route, would be reputable breeder--certainly not puppy mill or something like that.

Cavalier King Charles that is bred by a responsible breeders well versed in cardiac challenges in the breed is a dog that is so gentle and good. A havenese is a big dog in a small dog body. A show bred golden retriever from a good breeder like Malagold can be perfect, but needs to have hip, heart, eye, and elbow clearances for both parents registered properly on www .offa. org .

![]() When did this happen? Why wasn't I told? I am devastated. I know all about Chris Pratt's divorce (which is the first time I heard of him) but can't seem to keep up with the goings-on on PC. I applaud your fortitude in dealing with family and that too on a Sunday, no less. I hope you have your escape routes well-planned ![]() |

I'm just getting home. Please tell me what principal in their right mind schedules a 1.5 after school training on a Monday?
It's like he wants me to hate him. |

My T tried to tell me today that I hav PTSD from what I saw on Saturday (the car incident in Charlottesville), but I didn't actually SEE the car hitting the people, just the aftermath. I was a few hundred feet behind.

I mean, on 9/11 not everyone saw planes hitting the Towers, but the aftermath was still horrifying and traumatizing to deal with. |

Labs can shed a ton - just short hair everywhere - and they are insanely active. I have friends that have had that breed for a long time - they are a very active breed. I am not saying they are not good with families - they are and they are very popular. Not the breed for me, but popular. A dog park nearby could help.
"Labradors are always full of energy, and do have a requirement for a good exercise routine, as well as plenty of space to play and run. However, they can be good apartment dogs, provided that you follow a few simple guidelines." http://www.clublabrador.com/labrador...partment-dogs/ "Labrador Retrievers, unlike some other dogs, require as much energy as time. If you’re a certified couch potato, your Lab may adjust, but inactive dogs (like inactive people) are less healthy, and Labs that aren’t provided outlets for their energy may become destructive. Labs aren’t small dogs and can’t get sufficient activity running back and forth across the living room like a Chihuahua. Well-trained Labs that get sufficient exercise shouldn’t be hyperactive and can certainly adapt to different levels of activity, but your Lab will need to be walked at least once a day, taken for occasional swims, and given the opportunity to do lots of retrieving, the thing they love best. If you aren’t up to the physical challenge, consider a less active or smaller dog — or perhaps, a cat." http://www.dummies.com/pets/dogs/are...dor-retriever/ Remember the dog from Marley and Me was a lab. There are the labradoodles and goldendoodles and other doodle mixes - they supposedly don't shed. But they certainly can be, in my experience with them in dog classes and the neighborhood and friends who have them- very very active as young dogs.

LT- we have a Bichon Frise. He doesn't she and is said to be hypoallergenic. Apparently they are notorious for being stubborn, which my guy is. But I love him!
