How many different types of psycotherapy are there?

Because I was going to one for last 18 months and it made me whole lot worse.

I just want to know what the hell this therapist was trying to do to me?

I don't know how many types there are, but there are options. Sometimes the problem lies within the therapist themselves. You need to find the right match.

Agreed--it could be the technique, but could very much be the therapist. In particular, I'd think psychodynamic therapy would depend particularly strongly on the therapist themselves and how good a fit they were for you.
