The therapist and client both experience each other differently.

I mean somewhere in an alternate universe a t could be sitting in an online forum agonising over missing their client during a break.... but lets face it, that is just not reality. And its a good thing really.

No matter how much we need or want our t, they will never need us and they may want us but only as much as they want any other client.

Just giving myself a reality check today I guess.

Gave myself a reality check today too. He's the only one for me and I'm one of the many. But that's the way it supposed to be and I probably wouldn't like it differently. So it sucks on one hand but it's a good thing on the other I guess. Hang in there..

I'm one client out of 40+... I know my T notices when she hasn't seen a client for a while. She asks them what happened if they keep postponing their sessions. Happened to a friend who sees her.

Once after a long period (over a month, almost two months), I asked if she'd missed me and she said I'm the first client to ask her that. No, she hadn't missed me, though she had noticed my absence.

I miss her a lot. I'm on the 4th week of a 5 week break.

QM, it would break my heart if my t said she didn’t miss me. I mean she probably doesn’t, but I think I would be devastated to hear those words. It was brave of you to ask.
Thanks for this!
