I wanted to share a special T moment with you all.

Therapy yesterday was very heavy stuff and it was all getting to much for me........anyway there is a large poster picture in T's office. It is a scene of a beach, big open space, a slightly gloomy picture because it looks like it has been taken maybe just after a storm. Dark clouds over head but with a shaft of light shining through the clouds reflecting on the watery sand of the beach.

I focused on this picture for a long time and said to my T, "I like that picture.........you and I are walking along the beach together, the gentle wind blowing in our face but content, peaceful." There was a deep silence for what seemed for ever, but T was with me on that beach (in the picture) and then I said, "Do you have a dog?" ..........he replied quietly, "Used to, not anymore......" So I said "Ok we will have an imaginary dog then, skipping in the sand......"

Again there was silence for what seemed forever but T and I were both focusing on the picture, in the picture, and then T said, "Do you see the light? ........The beautiful shaft of light that is peeping through those clouds?........"

Oh, that's so wonderful that you and T could fantasize together and you could let him know how you were feeling in that way.

Yeah T and I have done a lot of safe-place work over the years and I guess at that point in therapy I really needed a safe-place and I needed T to be there with me.

Hello Girls, yeah I'm planning on going for a beach walk some time soon but I don't know whether I will be able to recapture what we had there in therapy.

Thanks, it was at a point in therapy that was just so yucky and so off we went for a magical walk on the beach.

What a wonderful moment and such a safe place for both of you. I am glad that you were able to share. I hope that you will always be able to remember that moment as it was.

Thanks bipolar bear, I have similar safe-places but this time, I think, it was the fact that T came with me and was happy to walk beside me (even if it was imaginary) he was there too.

I love that he engaged in this fantasy with you. My T and I spoke through a painting once, only I ended up kicking his *** in it. Oh well, I was mad. But anyway, I think this is beautiful and I hope that you internalized the scene with you and your T in it so you can imagine your safe place anytime.

Thanks pinksoil, I used to have a lot of scary dreams where T would be in the background. He was always a dark figure standing away from the scene just observing.

Then recently I have had dreams where me and T have started to interact briefly and then T goes back into the darkness to watch again.

So, the scenario of me and T walking side by side on a beach together is really something!
