Yes, all the time, for me

I am sure I have. Others have said things I didn't like or disagreed with. It's just part of being human and if the other human is important enough to me, I work on fixing that together, or apologizing if I have offended.

Yep... She gets really really frustrated when I say I'm disgusting. I used to ask her nearly every session if she finds me disgusting. Until she said she'll never answer that question ever again because it's "reassurance seeking" and the final answer is "Never."
That was a year or so ago and I don't ask her anymore but still say I'm disgusting. Which she has told me "I feel really frustrated whenever you say that about yourself." She also tells me she feels hurt whenever patients (including me) say "You only care about me because of your job!" |

Not on a personal level, as far as I know. There have been many things I have said and continue to say that my therapist does not "like" to hear as a therapist. But she's not affected personally by them

why would it matter whether a therapist likes it or not?

Definitely. When I get into my self-defeating and self-sabatoging attitude she makes it very clear that she won’t stand for it and that I need to do better/that I’m further along in my progress than to do that. She shows her anger to me over it.

I once laughed when talking about a suicide attempt (the day after it happened). That's the only time I can recall him getting visibly upset about something I said. Probably he doesn't like other things I've said or done either, but that's pretty normal in relationships, nobody likes every single part about another person.

She reacts quite strongly when I call myself stupid, or say that something I am feeling is stupid....I'm grateful, really, because it helps me realise that she is on my side.
