I took the chance and asked her, via email, what her results are. I am happy to say that it's good news. It's cancer, but a very low grade and with good prospects for treatment. I feel very relieved.

I am still feeling better about her illness, and will no doubt talk more about it when I see her next week. However, one not-so-great result of knowing she has bladder cancer: I think of her every time I pee!
