I forgot about my pain while we did that. She said she's not taking away holding her hand but I talked a lot before she sat next to me. We did the support thing again with her pressing on my kidney! And my arm. It felt better last week. I said often the first time feels the best and she said that's good to know. I said I drove to you just to get touched and that's pathetic. T said wanting touch is NOT pathetic.

I like doing things like playing catch. I wanted to play games with T in the past but of course we didn't. I know she's trying to get me to think of other things than my pain. I never thought my sessions would ever be like this!
I know I'm paying a lot of money, twice a week, but T is comforting so I'll just keep doing it.

Comfort and relief from pain is a big deal, rainbow. I'm glad you're able to get that from your t.

Nothing wrong with spending your money exactly as you wish. I'm glad you are able to get touch, comfort, and relief from pain. Sounds like a very good use of money to me.

In certain cultures and in some families, money is a very loaded topic. It ends up having all sorts of meanings to people, it symbolizes or represents love, attention, value, etc. Lots of shame and guilt that goes along with spending money. My grandma used to say to put your money in your head where no one can take it away from you.

I agree with all of this. I often feel guilty for spending money on therapy, but then I think, would I feel guilty if it were for a physical medical condition? No. And Rainbow, in your case, your therapy is also helping you both mentally AND physically, so it's very clearly worth it. I'm glad it's helping you.
