Possible trigger warning

Today at work one of my coworkers asked if I had heard about Psych Np. PSYCH Np use to work on the same facility I do. When she left 3 ish years ago I followed her.

Today one of my Dr. colleagues told people that psych np has a brain tumor. Yup panic mode!!

I have spoken to Emdr T who had somebody tell her psych Np was taking 1 month leave of absence but she has no information other than that. EMDR T and Pdoc use to work together until T went into private practice. EMDR T was awesome on the phone and pointed out my reaction is totally understandable in light of all that happened with T. Trying not to think the worse but holy crap this sucks.

I am beginning to think this is a sign that I should not be getting psychiatric help.

I dont think HIPAA applies here. My psych np isn't a patient in any way here. I suspect what happened is she is friends with one of her former coworkers who still works in my facility ( I know she is good friends with a at least one of my dr colleagues). She told her friend who told his coworker ( the doctor who was telling people about the tumor.

Okay, well, so much for people's privacy, unless psych np doesn't mind people knowing.

That I agree with and makes me angry. Especially since there are probably other clients of hers who found out this way

Omg....so today I was talking to the coworker that told me about Np. I told her I received a call from the office and all appointments are being rescheduled due to her being out for 4 weeks. I told her based on this I am going to assume it is not cancer as she would be out longer than a month. At which point the coworker said but I was told she it IS cancer. WTF. I told her I will believe they are wrong unless I hear it from Np or her office
