So today T said EMDR cant rob me of my emotions and cannot implant false memories. I also talked to my mother and she is willing to come in and talk with her. My T also said she wants to take a step back until I feel happier( because I dont feel happy right now I feel blah. I explained to her I am not happy because I dont know why I am the way I am. I feel defeated. She also said I would much rather you say this is ******** than look at the wall. This mad me laugh a little inside. Made me like her personality even more but then it kind of hurt me a little as well. I have never had good eye contact with people. I dont feel like staring in her face is appropriate. Idk

Ps. Does your therapist say what are you thinking when youre quiet? I hate it.

Does she say what you're thinking or ask what you're thinking?

Oh, OK. I was afraid you meant she was trying to tell you what she thought you felt in those moments. I'm not quiet in therapy that often, but if I randomly start crying, my T will say something like, "What's going on right now?" Which can be helpful. Because otherwise I might just avoid talking about why I'm upset, and he sort of makes me confront it. If you'd rather her just let you sit in the silence for a minute, I'd tell her that.

He used to but he knows me well enough now to read my reactions to things... he usually doesn't push too much.
