Oh you mean the cosmos as in the universe, not as in people drinking cosmos, right? Because we would be against the rules too... :martini:

I'm kinda regretting my decision to do a 5K tomorrow morning. Though the shirt for it is pretty awesome (picked it up tonight), so there's that...It's a running reindeer.
Possible trigger:
I think my goal should just be to finish this one. It's on roads, not cross country like the one I bailed on a couple weeks ago. Will be pretty cold, but not quite as bad. Plus I'm more prepared this time...

On a positive note (diet):

Just went to my doctor and the patient before me was being called, it was my T. He always does this thing in public when i see him, he kinda ducks down and scurries. It is the most bizarre thing to see. It kind of makes me feel self conscious. We have the client says hello thing but its like he is actively avoiding interaction.

In the triathlon world (I've done one small one) DFL beats DNF beats DNS

DFL - Dead F'in Last
DNF - Did not Finish
DNS - Did not start

Think of all the people you are surpassing just by getting off the couch!

I've run some 10ks and half's, and I'll echo this. Getting out and doing it - even if you come in dead last of 100 people, youre still ahead of all the people who didn't even try or didn't finish. You can do it!!!! I like to use the vibe to get me through- all the people and spectators. Pop in some music and don't pay attention to the distance. Just go for it and enjoy!
Thanks for this!

I need cat food but I am concerned about going to any place where there could be hordes. Trying to decide if the cats have enough to last through Sunday and which I dread more - mobs of strangers in shopping mode or the disapproval unhappiness of my cats if we run out of dry food late Sunday night. I have plenty of canned food but one of mine won't eat canned food. The cats will win.

I use google find to find my phone which I lose more frequently than I would like to admit. But usually I have forgotten to charge it. I lost it twice today, and am now looking for it. It has to be in this vicinity. I think I am in my head too much and don't pay attention (I'm not mindful, but am working on that). Just wanted to vent. And wondering if anyone has this problem?

Sorry SD, but the cats have already won.
1. They have taken away your power, and have mind-controlled you into sharing your catexistential angst.
2. They guilted you into picking a username of STOP DOG.

The cats have won. Admitting it is the first step.

Frequently. I will do things twice, because I completely forget the first time.

I am their minion. I am the minion for my dogs as well.
I am powerless over the pets - there was never any question about that.
But sometimes I like to live on the edge.

i've had a $hitty day, quite literally. i had art therapy this morning, and felt like crying throughout the whole thing bc i hate myself for sleeping away the past two days. then i came home, overflowed the toilet, and water was everywhere..had to call a plumber. at least my bathroom is clean now.

and its only 2:30.

This happens to me, too, like it will fall between couch cushions or I'll forget that my D took it upstairs (or occasionally I leave it in the car...). We have a home phone (bad cell reception in parts of the house), so I'll sometimes call it from the home phone. And then later I'm like "Why do I have a missed call from home? Oh right..."

I found mine on my bed under the clothes I was trying to fold and put away. I often find my phone under my bed, too.

Thanks for the support about the 5K. It went pretty well! They haven't posted official results, but I definitely wasn't last (saw people finish after me) and according to the time showing when I crossed the finish line (50:something), I beat my time in the last one (a few months ago) by like 2 minutes! But I guess the most important thing is that I finished. It's a nice feeling, the people cheering when you cross the finish line.
