If you give a card to you T over the holidays what do you normally write? I gave a card to my T today that literally just said 'Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year'. I know that he celebrates Christmas and had thought he would allow cards and he accepted it thankfully. Wondering if people use it as an opportunity to write more.

I use it as an opportunity to say thank you for the things my T does for me.

I'm not really a card giver, so if I were to go through the trouble in the first place I'd likely write more.
In general, I always try to follow what I call my 3 S's — short, simple, and sincere |

Usually I just say, "Merry Christmas" "Thanks for all you've done for me through the year" and "Take Care" but with new T this year, I just said "Merry Christmas" and her name at the top and my name at the bottom. I don't know her well enough for more words to be said. She liked the card anyway. Esp. the picture on the front. Good enough. Kit.

'Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year' - I agonised over this initially, and then decided that I would do better to keep the focus on the season than on me.

With T I use to write a little more be because I knew her so well. This year for Emdr T I wrote Merry Christmas and God Bless! Thank you for all you do and my name.

I always kept it general. The time I had to go to the hospital for SI I handmade cards for my T and PDOC to tell them thank you and that was the only time I was more specific. But at holidays I was always general. Kit.

I wrote a novel in his Christmas card. Thanked him for being so patient and understanding, always being there for me, helping me out blah blah blah. I wrote a lot.

I think any positive message can be fine, whatever you would like to express and suits your style. I have never given cards to Ts but if I did, would probably make the text somewhat personalized but brief. A formal message is good, too - I think simply the act of giving the card expresses something on its own.

I do not give my T a card at the holidays, but if I did, I think I would simply say, "Thanks for all you have done for me this year. Happy holidays and happy new year!"
