Just for fun.

Sometimes people talk about “eating our sessions.” Is there a specific food you turn to after a session for comfort or recovery or reward? Cake, ice cream, etc. What is it?

Me? Egg bagel with peanut butter.
Thanks for this!

I typically lose my appetite bc of the emotional intensity of therapy.

I often turn to food to fill the void. Nothing else seems to work quite as well in five minute increments. I can eat a whole packet of mints in one sitting, which probably isn't good for me, but I also have chilli cashew nuts on hand.

I eat before session, so I'm not hungry afterward.

Now my therapy appointments are late like 6:30 or 7 PM so I have eaten beforehand. When I used to have morning appointments I would sometimes have Japanese afterwards. Kit

When I was in therapy.. I used to eat fast food after every session. I labeled it French Fry Tuesday because my sessions were on Tuesdays.

I used to grab a cupcake and sugar-y coffee from Starbucks.... now I'm trying to eat healthier so I eat fruit. Blech. I can't eat before though so I'm usually starving when I get done.

I'm not much of an emotional eater, particularly the older I get. Just don't eat like I used to.

I can't turn to food for therapy, because I am a food addict. No statement made about anybody else here. I'm only talking about me.

Usually by the end of a session I have completely lost my appetite, which lasts for a couple days.

A few days later, I eat a pint of ice cream. Which evens things out, I suppose.

I eat dinner after session. Usually we go out because I'm too emotionally exhausted to cook. But I don't eat my sessions away.

I was usually in a state of self-destructive frustration and homicidal anger when I left. Eating was not my go to.

When I get home from session it's time for dinner. I usually have leftovers or a frozen dinner on therapy nights.

I eat constantly anyway. I don't think I eat more after therapy. I just eat a lot. All the time, unfortunately.
