Trying for a fun thread here! Are there any funny things you've imagined your T doing? Not sure the best way to explain, but, here's my example:

So, OK, H has said he will sometimes do exercises in his office, with door closed, like pushups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, etc. For some unknown reason, last night I was wondering if T does any exercises in his office. I first pictured him doing the ones I mentioned. Possibly squats or something. Then I imagined him doing a backflip. Then...Irish stepdancing (like Riverdance). Then...the Electric Slide (yes, I'm old!) And I was sitting here cracking up at those images. To the point that I'm afraid I'll start randomly laughing when I see T tomorrow. So...anyone else?
Thanks for this!

Babying his favorite cat, cuddling the poor creature until it wants to get away, possible baby talk. I know he does it just haven’t seen it

When I first started seeing my T, she struck me as very polished, professional, and maybe a little uptight. So I would amuse myself by trying to imagine her dancing, wearing jeans, and drunk. I could picture two of them at a time, but never all three at once.

She also admitted once that sometimes she naps on the couch in her office when she has a break between clients, which I find totally charming and a little weird.

One day we were having a discussion about something to do with kids and keeping things clean. Somehow it lead to her saying well we do have the 5 second rule in my house. The way she said it was kind of comical. I now sometimes imagine her walking around the house picking up food after her 3 year old. I am pretty certain she doesnt but it is an image I occasionally get

He talked about exercising and I imagined him doing Jane Fonda's workout wearing a headband....

This isn't an answer to your question, but it still always blows my mind that other people imagine things. Like you are actually able to come up with the concept and then you see a picture of it in your head. Not just thinking about the idea, but a "mental image."

My T used some anecdote from having played varsity tennis in high school as a metaphor and I giggled at the idea of him playing tennis. No mental image though. But I suppose not picturing my T in tennis shorts is probably something to be grateful for.
He's mentioned having cats and I've wondered how he interacts with them, and like wondered if he treats them with the same kind of undignified affection that I treat my cat.

T comes from a serious musician family but he played the electric guitar in the 1960's, apparently to the scandalous scorn of his concert piano playing relatives. I imagine him in a Steven Tyler wig (a longer version of his current cut), playing Stairway to Heaven (yes, a song from a different band, led zeppelin. Like a lonely teenage boy, even though he's married with adult kids. Probably nobody knows what song or band I'm talking about Middle aged lady alert.

He has also mentioned a yearly "retreat" he goes to, and told a story about how they're all getting older, and the groans from the yoga mats when they get up. So I see him in yoga pants groaning upwards from downward dog. Yeah, that's not too symbolic.

He once told me how he struggles with computers sometimes, he didn't know how to use a keyboard properly until I told him and he seems to still write handwritten letters. To me, imagining how he barely knows how to do anything with technology is funny. Other than that, I don't imagine him doing things a whole lot, whether funny or not.

I never really imagined him doing things that he didn't tell me he did.

I do remember though he told me his furniture was all placed so he can walk circles around them when he's anxious, it made me laugh and then I started to picture it

I imagine him dosing off in front of the TV with his mouth slightly open. He then starts to breathe very deeply and snore very lightly. This makes me sound like a creep.

I'm a bit younger (born in '70s) but am familiar with both musicians and the song. That and the yoga thing are pretty amusing images!

The only thing I can picture former T doing besides T stuff is grocery shopping, probably because she talked about it. I can't really picture new T doing stuff except for wrapping presents because she said she's a perfectionist about it and it takes her like an hour to wrap a present. I'd never finish Christmas wrapping if it took me an hour to do one present. Kit

Hmm, I've only ever really imagined the therapist in situations where she was reacting to some provocation from me. Some of those amused me, like adding salt to her drink or giving her marmite and saying it was chocolate.

I like the Riverdance idea. That can be applied to tons of people. And dogs, for that matter. I also like the idea of her talking to her dog in a baby voice.

I find the idea of her riding her motorcycle unexplainably funny. Maybe because I'm reminded of my dad and his motorcycle and how he thinks he's super cool when he's really just super loud. Like that South Park episode with the bikers. I wonder if she has any sorts of goofy motorcycle get-ups like he does. And if she wears that serious, I'm so cool, I'm a biker expression when she rides.
Thanks for this!
