My T uses one cell phone for both (and doesn't have an office phone--and I don't think a home phone either, from something he said).

Same as LT
However mine didn't list the cell on his business cards or website. He only gave it to some clients. Most used the office landline to leave a message __________________ Grief is the price you pay for love. |

I have no idea about any other numbers for her. I've only ever had her cell phone number, and for the first year I saw her, I didn't even KNOW it was a cell phone haha

My former T gave me her cell phone number to communicate with her, as well as her office phone. The T I have now only gave me her office phone number.

I was always given just one cell number and I would not want to have a Ts personal one.
I think one of my Ts has only one phone and the other used a separate business phone with clients. I would never use their personal phone even if I had the no. Actually, I very rarely texted and calls were only scheduled phone sessions. I prefer email. |

I guess with ex-T and ex-MC, I had both their office landline and their personal cell. I liked that they had an office landline because then I knew I could leave a message at, say, 9 p.m. and they definitely wouldn't answer. Or if I just wanted to hear their voice on the voicemail. I've called current T's cell exactly once and was terrified that he'd answer (he didn't). I did call ex-T and ex-MC on their cells, but it was generally when I was hoping they *would* answer, as they allowed occasional unscheduled nonsession phone calls (unlike T).

My Ts cell phone is private; he doesn't give it out. But he gave it to me, so I text him all the time. We both hate phone calls, so we text/email as our primary methods of communication.

I don't know if the cell phone number I have is for a business cell phone, a personal cell phone, or a cell phone she uses for both.
I had the cell phone number and home phone number for my longtime therapist. I think the cell phone number was a business one, but I'm not sure if that had originally been the case or not. I only called her home phone once. I've lost the number at this point, which sucks, because I'm terrified she's going to retire and I'll text her one day and either she'll never respond or it will be some stranger. |

I have seen many therapists, and I think most of them had cell phones just because landlines aren't that popular anymore. I have never called for any other reason than to make an appointment though. And I have never texted.

My therapist eventually had a business cell phone. I only know that because if I called him and left a message at the office, he would often return the call on that phone. It was obvious is was a business-dedicated cell phone because it was essentially the same number as the office number but with a different prefix (or maybe last number; I can't remember). I never called that number directly; if I needed him, I called the office number and left a message or spoke the answering service who contacted him.

I have her clinic office #, her university office # and her cell phone #.
Which one I use depends on her schedule. |

My T has a phone for his job and another one (I assume) for his personal life. He hasn't given me his personal number, and I'd doubt he'd do so. It sounds weird to me. He has his professional phone which he turns on sometimes the evening before he works and it's almost constantly on when he works.

My T has a business number that rings directly to voicemail. That's the number I usually call to leave a message when I want to talk to her, and that's the number that shows up on my phone when she returns my call. Eventually she gave me a cell number, but I don't know if it's business, personal, or both (the outgoing voicemail message is very generic and just says "You have reached [first name], please leave a message."). I only call that number if, say, I just barely missed her call and want to call her back right away. I would also use her cell number in an absolute emergency, but I've never had one of those. We don't text.

I had Ts home and cell number. For most of the time she preferred we use her home number or email her so I emailed. Then when she got a life (her words so she recommended we call or email. I emailed.
Emdr T only gives her cell number. So that is what we use. __________________ |

I'm guessing my T has a cell phone for business purposes because that's the one he's given to me and I've contacted him on it a few times during weekends and holiday breaks.
If it's urgent I call him but simple scheduling stuff I do text him. I also have his email but have only used that once at the beginning for scheduling. |
