So I am going to be a published fiction writer. It’s an online literary magazine with a print anthology at the end of the year.

Not exactly where I hoped to start publishing (I have a bias towards print) but it’s a start.

I am very attached to T. When on the office side I sit on the couch directly across from him and on the edge so I can reach him if I need. When we are doing other work he will pull his chair up so that the arm of his chair is up to the end of the opposite arm of my chair (the chairs make a weird s shape. This makes him REALLY close but the arms of the chair keep us from touching... unless we choose to.

I have never been tempted to dye my hair even though I started going grey in my 30s and I always had a great deal of pressure from my ex MIL. Now for some reason all my grey hairs have naturally turned red. Weird

If you ever go...I strongly advise packing a lunch, water, and some emergency rations, and tying the end of a ball of yarn to the entrance door and unspooling it as you go.

Also be prepared to throw some elbows.

IKEA is a maze. You can’t get out without walking the entire store and it’s rather large. You literally have to walk the whole thing to get out. It’s a trap.

I'm so mentally drained right now, I'm amazed I can still put sentences together. Had extra session with T today after some stuff from yesterday's session left me in what he termed "emotional turmoil." I was crying even as I paid T today, and he said he felt bad that I wasn't leaving in better shape. Session was helpful, it just dredged up so much stuff, mostly about my dad, right in time for Father's Day (and I'll see him Sunday). I sat in the parking lot for a half hour getting it together. I wished I could have had more time talking to T, but as he said right at the end of session, he'd be seeing me Monday, and I'm supposed to then see him Friday (due to concert Wed. night), but he said if I wanted to see him earlier than Friday for the second session, I could. It's like he was trying to underline the fact that he's there. He seemed particularly invested in me today, too, like seemingly moved by some of the stuff I shared. But it was like 55 minutes wasn't enough, and I wish I could have talked for another 30 minutes or even an hour.

Not true! If you can find them, there are secret portals that allow you to skip portions of your journey. Knowing they exist is half the battle.

One of my classmates this semester totally has my number. She's in my small group where we review each other's poems. This week she said that my writing always brings her to the place where I am, but leaves her feeling like she got stood up for a blind date. Like I'm there hiding, and she is left aching for me to come out. I think she's exactly right and if I get no other useful feedback for the rest of the class, I won't care. That one piece of feedback feels huge to me. I guess I am still hiding from myself.

Hint: They are marked on the store map, but they're not glaringly obvious because they want you to traipse through the whole damn maze of a store.

Congratulations @@!

Hugs for everyone who wants one, and sedate head-nods for everyone who is anti-hug.

I had a Horrible day (I almost wrote that in all caps) and I'm really glad it's over. Happy weekend couch!

I’ll have to take note of those secret portals next time I find myself in an IKEA. Which I’m guessing won’t be for a quite awhile because I rarely go there even though the one near me is only a 15 minute drive.
