I’m not sure where things turned bad after I left therapy, I stayed in a parking lot sobbing and he knows that I was upset when I left but he doesn’t care.

He doesn’t care that I’m hurting.

I think I am done with therapy. I will just take the meds but I want therapy to be over.

This often happens to me after sessions. Trust me I know how unbearably painful it is. It truly sucks!
But you'll feel better tomorrow.
Take your meds, do your grounding and self care.
You WILL feel better and then go to your next session. You can do this. You've already showed progress and I'm happy for you.

I'm sorry you are hurting. I do think you are making progress with your T so I hope you will feel well enough to go back and continue. Try to do some compassionate things for yourself. Treat yourself kindly. HUGS Kit

Hope, you will get through this. Look through your old posts and remind yourself of the times you knew he was a great therapist. Remember, therapists are not to agree with everything yousay. Their job is to push you a little out of your comfort zone a bit each time so you can make changes in the right direction.

Have the two of you set up a treatment plan? If not I would definitely discuss this at your next session so you have goals and know what you should becworking on. Don't quibble over any dx just lay out a plan to help your symptoms.

Your comnent about T not caring and you are never going back is pattern of yours. Maybe have your T help you with CBT on those recurring thoughts. This will help you reframe those thoughts and help you end the pain sooner next time.
Thanks for this!

I’m in a bunch of pain because my school goals just shattered apart and now I’m so discouraged. Somehow, the lady in the office put me down for a second appointment this week on Friday evening. I hope T isn’t upset about the second appointment when he finds out. But, I believe this situation needs help very soon so I can hopefully pick myself back up again.

The thing that annoys me about T at the end of every session is that he just gets up so fast and practically rushes to the door. My other two previous Ts never rushed to the door that fast.

He's just keeping to his schedule. It isn't personal. Just business.
Thanks for this!

I think he will be glad you see him on Friday evening, that is what he is there for and you do need his support. Sorry to hear about school. Just please don't give up on therapy some sessions are harder then others it's all part of therapy. It will be okay just take care of you and be gentle with yourself.
Thanks for this!

The other therapists weren't psychiatrists, were they? I think you can chalk the difference in exit style up to that.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so bad. What do you expect him to do when he knows you're in distress but he has other patients to see? I'm not asking to be mean, I'm just wondering what the trigger seems to be when you say he doesn't care that you're hurting - because you have said that before. Is it just that he isn't available to help you deescalate or to comfort you? Or is it something else?

I wouldn't take it personally when he rushes to the door. It may just be the way he is with everyone. A psychologist that I used to see was really task oriented. So he would be very business like at the end of sessions - no joking or small talk. But,he was nice to work with. Anyway, I saw that he was this way with other clients AND colleagues. He worked in an office full of psychologists, psychiatrists, and MSWs. So, Hope, I would not come to the conclusion that he doesn't care.
Thanks for this!

It's rare to have your psychiatrist also be your therapist. It's a really helpful combination. Remember, he's a physician and his training and experience are quite different from your average therapist. I've read your previous comments. You have times when you absolutely adore him. Sometimes, because he's human, he might disappoint you. Just hold on to how good he usually is with you. He has a unique set off skills. Take advantage of them..

Trust your feelings OP. If you don't feel safe and comfortable with him then you are well within your rights to leave. You don't have to have a cogent analysis of why you're leaving in order to leave. You can just leave because you feel like it. If you change your mind later and want to go back, you can go back. You don't owe him anything. Remember, he works for you. You are paying him.

That really sucks. Sounds like a bad therapist if you feel this bad leaving. They say it's a warning sign therapy isn't working if this is how you feel. Lots of good fish in the sea. Gotta find someone for you who is good.
