So far things have gone very well i seem to like the new therapist and feeling more comfortable with how things are working. I feel we have a good connection and don't feel like i always felt before her.
Today i let her know i space out quite a bit during the day and lose time. I am here but in the past. We kinda got to where the memories are and it's where it's causing the greatest pain and anxiety in my life now. Very often i am thinking about Grandpa, past teachers, or my past friends. I told her numb and now i feel so many mixed emotions. This is the first time i told someone because i have been so scared of being called insane or put in the hospital. Would it be helpful to journal but not to the point it takes over my life? I can see this will get tough for me but i know i can't keep hiding this, it only will create on going anxiety in my life. I do have ptsd diagnosed in 2005 |

Hi Cheryl,
Reading your post, I think you are the only person who can make the call as to whether journalling would be helpful for you. If you have derived benefit from it in the past, why not try again? And if you've never tried it, this might be a good time to start. If you have exercises for grounding, it would be good to be able to use those if the journalling touches a nerve. Hope that helps, Lost

I have found journaling to be very helpful for me, it's sometimes i can get it a rut and sink into a low mood, however i do have a positive affirmations now to help me get out of that and if I find im just going in circles i can stop for a bit. I journal to track my moods, and stressful day to day things. It's been a long time since i have done any journaling of my past |

Journaling can definitely be helpful for many people. Also, to prevent from spacing out you could try mindfulness and body scan?
