I had a therapy session on Thursday.

My next therapy session is tomorrow.

Do any of you go to a therapy session, decide for whatever reason you can't face going back in for your next one and go back a few weeks later after that etc.

I said to therapist on Friday late afternoon I wasn't sure about attending tomorrow's session but I offered to pay her regardless of whether I go tomorrow or not. I paid her for tomorrow's session on Friday evening, because I didn't want to let her down and also wanted longer to try and make a decision.

I have till 11am tomorrow to make a decision. Do any of you get this push/pull with therapy where how you feel kind of threatens to make you leave. How often does this happen? Is your therapist OK with your push/pull and is she/he always happy to take you when you feel OK to go back?

Therapist seemed OK with my quandry, said no problem at all, but she put 'I but I really hope to see you Hannah. She then put the attached emoji.

How did you feel about that final comment and emoji?

Fine but what does the emoji mean? I don't understand what it means? Is it a happy face or a cross face?

I don't always speak emoji, but I think that is a hug.
Thanks for this!

Yes, as other poster says, it is a hug. Glad you feel okay about it. I think it is important you trust yourself and do what you feel is right.
Thanks for this!

Thanks! Have you ever skipped sessions or cancelled them and then gone back the next week or a few weeks later or whatever? How many times have you done this? Has your therapist minded? What's their reaction been?

I was in therapy 3 years ago and recently contacted my therapist about returning. I cancelled our first session and nearly didn't attend the new date. I'm very glad I didn't. It was good to see her again and get back into it. I need regular sessions, and I accept that now. She is OK with it and understood my ambivalence. We are talking about it too. It links to my issues.
Thanks for this!

My T would be OK with it provided I let him know and didn’t just no call no show. He would be very worried if I no called no showed.

I haven't, but I have thought about it. I am 100% sure my therapist would be fine with it. He is always saying that I should do whatever feels right for me.

If I am honest, I wasn't keen on your therapist's "I really hope to see you Hannah" comment, as I would have found it pressuring. My T probably would have said something like "Okay, that's not a problem. I will leave the slot open for you until [x day] in case you change your mind". In fact, that is what he has said in the past, and I have always changed my mind.
