Hey guys. So I am planning to email my former online therapist just to update her on how I am doing. The only problem is that she has about two different contacts- one is through her website and the other is through her official university email (she is a professor now as well). She hasn’t updated her professional website in ages and I am worried that she no longer checks emails coming from that website. But also, I am worried about what would happen if I tried contacting her via her university email. What are your opinions?

Could you email her using the website address and then if you don't get response after, say, a week or so try her university email?
Thanks for this!

That seems like a great suggestion by LIMH. Also, what about real snail mail.

Just address to both and explain you weren’t sure which one to use so just addressing to both. If she replies, she’ll use the one she prefers.

This makes sense to me. And the university address is presumably a public one that you could have found on the university website, so not an invasion of privacy or anything, if that's what you're concerned about.
Thanks for this!

I was thinking of doing that, but I’m worried that it could come across as desperate or something.

That way it's just an inquiry and you haven't sent anything personal to the wrong address

I honestly don't think so. If it were me, I'd put in both email addresses and just start the email off with "I wasn't sure which one to use, xxxx"
Thanks for this!

I just sent an email via her website yesterday and she still hasn’t replied to me yet. And then I realized that I was only able to find her university email because I typed her name in the faculty directory and found out (through Facebook) where the specific university is. How do I justify the way I found out this email? I hope it wouldn’t count as an invasion of privacy.
