Ah, Dr. T does this sometimes, too. I've accommodated him every time except one because I work from home as a contractor so am generally pretty flexible. The one time, I think maybe I had to pick up D during the time he'd requested, but he was able to keep my original appointment. It's a bit frustrating because it makes me feel taken for granted, like, "Oh, surely LT will be willing to switch." I said once that it bothered me because I assumed it was for another client. That time he said it wasn't necessarily for a client, that maybe it was for something else, like his own doctor's appointment or something. Though one time recently, he asked me to shift my session by 30 minutes and told me when I was in session (after thanking me for changing) that he had a client who needed to come in who had a very specific availability.

I'm not sure why it bothers me more if it's another client vs. something personal (was same with ex-MC). I guess because it feels like he's putting another client above me, even though it's not like I couldn't make the other time, and he's generally been fine to do the original time if I couldn't make it work. I think it's just the act of being asked at all that sorta bothers me.

Well, apparently it does bother me, because I just went on for 2 paragraphs about it...but it doesn't seem worth it to bring up because it's not really *that* big of a deal. I guess it just reminds me that I'm just another client in his schedule. (though if a friend had to push back lunch a half hour, that would be fine...though presumably that would not be to accommodate another friend).

So, yeah, I get it.

I already schedule my sessions at the most convenient time for me, so I am not a good candidate for switching. Also not inclined to accommodate her unless it benefits me. I got tired of arranging my schedule to fit around therapy, so now therapy has to fit my schedule.

Both the sessions she wanted to change were 10 am. Maybe she can’t wake up and get “dressed” and have her face on and be her best little Info self till later.

Maybe she has trouble deciding what to wear for the fashion report, trying to fit in a quick shopping trip?

They don't work at all. They are Dumbo feathers. Emperor's New Clothes. Pavarotti's handkerchief. Sugar pills.

Okay, the phone call helped a bit. She said I need to draw boundaries with unhelpful friends, and my dad who is being a nasty person, as usual.

She asked me what did I need and I cried in public (Left the flat to take the call), saying I don't want to lose her as my T when I move. There's a lot of factors outside my control, so she asked what I'd like from her within my control. I said I want to cry in front of her at our next session.

About friends, two did check in on me. That helped. It also helped to get support from my UU group. Partner says he's been crying a lot, with others who knew the deceased well. They're trying to comfort the deceased's girlfriend who blames herself for his death.

For me might sound odd but before every exam I usually buy a bottle of pepsi/coke from the vending machine. The only time I ever drink the stuff.
Not odd to me! In my country, parents give students essence of chicken to drink before exams.

He also speaks French which I didn't know when I told him I was learning it. (6 days so far = duolingo and youtube )

It might be on archives.org

I've tried to cut back on my spending. The last non school text book I bought was in 2017- Instrumental by James Rhodes.
Check Wikipedia for "library Genesis". Should be libgen dot (something)

That would bother me, too. I might start to feel resentful.

On the other hand, you've said he was able to fit in an extra session here or there when you needed one, so I might see this as the price I pay for a T with a flexible schedule.

I had a good season with T today. I was able to talk about my recent downturn and get some support and encouragement. Not every session has to be about Big Things.

I had an ear infection. Took a week of antibiotics but my ear is still clogged, so maybe not an infection after all. Went back to the doctor and we're going to try steroids. I don't see how that will unblock my ear but I guess it's worth a shot. I'm not in pain or anything; everything's just muffled in that ear. Weird.

I was almost asleep but then the cat started hacking something up so here I am. My NP at the sleep clinic agreed to stop hassling me about not using my CPAP mask but she won't prescribe me trazodone anymore until I start using the mask again. (Trazodone helps me stay asleep. I can usually get to sleep okay.) I'll have to use it the month prior to my weight loss surgery (so I'm saving it up for then) but I have zero motivation to use it outside of that. I don't get better sleep with the mask; I don't notice any change in my daytime sleepiness or anything. I only have mild apnea anyway. Rationalization over.

I just want to say that I rely on this group a lot and thank you for being there when I need support.

Ugh! My dentist says I'll need 4 dental implants on my lower jaw. And if I don't, my jaw bone will deteriorate and lead to a whole array of problems. The only bit of good news is it looks like my dental insurance might cover 50% after the 6 months waiting period.

In other news, school started today, and I already dropped my child development course. I got too overwhelmed by everything the teacher sent us. I'm thinking of dropping history as well and just giving up. I'm so scared, confused and overwhelmed!

My sister isn't doing so well. My dad said she didn't mean it, but she texted me that she hates her boyfriend and regrets her unborn child. That broke my heart. She should know how precious life is and remember that she can have what I cannot.

H is still working! He's only making 50% what we need per month, but it's better than nothing. He's still searching for a better job.

And I quit smoking! I think for good this time. It's only been 5 days, but I'm feeling pretty good. It really helps that my H isn't home to bother me, my dad is quitting vaping too, and I'm doing my best to keep myself occupied via distraction, cleaning, or sleeping.

D is much better this afternoon, came home from her appointment with a prescription and a referral then got to give baby a bath. Whew. My poor bunny. This being a parent to adults thing is so hard sometimes.

Baby is still a darling little peanut, and I got to sing ABC's with big brother, so all is mostly well for now.
