In my defense, your honor, i was picturing an overinflated balloon exploding. But then yeah, i immediately went to the leak.

I'm feeling very overwhelmed tonight after all this CPS/DV/Speech therapy stuff this week. Started thinking whether it would be a stupid move to continue with grad school through all this or if I should "quit" for now. I really don't know how I'm going to be able to manage everything.

Could you just take a semester or two off without thinking of it as "quitting"? Maybe see what the rules are at your school, how much time you can skip without having to restart/reapply?

Our ED has been slammed lately - to the point that I need to bring out extra chairs and provide crowd control in triage. It sounds like yours is pretty chill - I'm glad for that for you.

I don't know what the culture's like in your program but in mine people were pretty understanding, students could take a semester or two off to take care of things if they had to--people had babies, deaths in the family, went to rehab, etc. Talk to your adviser about it, they should know what your options are.
