The portal was saying that time, but now it's saying Friday at a different time both weeks. It's not a huge deal, because I can somehow make it work We meet with my son's in home therapist on Friday's at 1230 and this appointment is scheduled for Friday at 1115. I'm really confused about this, and wonder if it's a glitch or if he changed it without discussing it with me. I'm tempted to text/call him about it but I don't want to be a pain.
I would definitely contact the T to clarify the appointment time. I don't see how there could be anything annoying about that at all.

I don't know your history with this, I was just asking a question. If her non-reply seems meaningful to you, I'm sure you have your reasons.

HUGS @CantExplain I hear you. I sent former T a text and an email after I got out of IP and I didn't hear back. I know she is under no obligation to write me anything but it hurt just the same. I'm sure it would have been helpful if Madame T would have sent you a text or a card back or something. I'm sorry that didn't happen. HUGS kit

@SheHulk07 I would definitely call the T's office to check on the appointment, just in case it got entered wrong and it is really on Thursday! HUGS Kit

Just an observation. Sorry if it came off as unsupportive, but is it possible you are expecting something that may not really be realistic, even among close friends and family?

I'd also contact him to clarify. My T says he's never bothered by texts or emails to confirm appointment times. And if you need to rearrange your schedule a bit, you'd want to know in advance.

It's just the T, no receptionist or anything. It was saying the correct time and day when I last checked a few days ago. Now it's saying this new time.

What's even weirder is that the portal blocks out every Friday, so I couldn't request that day even if I wanted on my end.

I would contact him, then. This might be a mistake and he might still expect you on Thursday.

I know you have been gone for a few months - but did you forget the blame the client mentality that is pervasive on the site?
I do send cards back from people who send them to me unless I want the person to leave me alone - and then I just ignore the card.

I was raised that if someone sends you a card, birthday, Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s, you send one back. It’s good manners.

Don’t know about therapist rules, but CE. You had a terrible time with that woman and she’s still jerking you around.

See, I was not raised this way, but I was not raised particularly well. I was actually asking a sincere question. But whatever.

Believe me, sending cards in response to cards doesn’t equal being raised well.

Anyway, it looks like the answer varies from person to person.

I once sent a thank you card to my Pastor's wife for sending me a graduation card when I got my MBA. She was baffled....like why would I send her a thank you card for a card? So now I send her text messages when she sends me a card, saying thank you. But the acknowledgement is still there--to me, that's the important part.

The main holiday cards we get now are just the photo kind with friends' or relatives' kids on them. We don't send any in return.

Thanks. Preferable response to the attack the members and blame them for something they weren’t doing. Christmas cards are pretty rare anymore, not in the way we used to do it. It used to be traditional to send out dozens (even hundreds) each year, and yes, back then you just added people to your list and sent them. Now days? I know of few people who send them out like that. We get a few from older generation family members but as most of us no longer go buy boxes of Christmas cards anymore, we don’t feel at all obligated to send one back.

Yeah, but you used to be able to send an xmas card for 2 cents. So, for a dollar, you could send 50 of them. Now, you can send two.

I used to be the xmas card assistant in our house. Pretty sure you could send an unsealed envelope for 2 cents when i was a girl. My dad got mad at me when i sealed them one year and cost him an extra penny per. Now i have to look it up!

I remember the huge stacks of cards my parents used to send out. My sibling and I were the stamp lickers

Very few people send Christmas cards anymore. I didn't send or receive any this year.
